The Driftless Region, which straddles the Mississippi River and spans Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois, is filled with trails to explore, rivers and lakes to fish and paddle, and cycling routes to conquer. This 24,000-square-mile patch of the Upper Midwest was inexplicably untouched by glacial erosion and deposits during the last Ice Age, meaning the Driftless Region is the last remnant of untamed, rugged terrain that once spanned the region.
